Custom engineering

Build the generator package around the project, not the other way around.

When a standard generator package does not meet the footprint, acoustic, fuel, control or operating requirement, Patsons develops a coordinated custom solution. Engineering, fabrication, integration and testing remain connected through one project team.

Scope

Project-specific fabrication and integration

Acoustic enclosures

Soundproof canopies, walk-in enclosures, attenuators, weather louvers and silencer integration.

Fuel tanks

Single-wall or double-wall cylindrical and rectangular tanks, day tanks and package base tanks.

Base frames & containment

Structural skids, lifting arrangements, drip trays and equipment support details.

Panels & controls

Generator controls, auxiliary panels, synchronization, load sharing and remote signals.

Hazardous-area options

Project-specific Zone 1 or Zone 2 package provisions and flameproof equipment integration where required.

Monitoring interfaces

Remote monitoring, alarm and status signals coordinated with the project control architecture.

Design review

Decisions are made against operating evidence

Patsons starts with the generator manufacturer data and project specification, then checks the package against the actual installation constraints. Each custom feature is tied to a stated requirement rather than added as an isolated accessory.

The review should close all assumptions that affect rating, reliability or maintainability before fabrication: ambient conditions, load behavior, air path, exhaust limits, fuel autonomy, cable entry, controls, lifting and service access.

  1. 01

    Input register

List the technical, site and commercial information received, with gaps clearly identified.

  2. 02

    Concept layout

Confirm the package arrangement, interfaces and maintenance zones before detailed work.

  3. 03

    Technical submittal

Issue selected components, drawings and deviations for project approval.

  4. 04

    Manufacturing release

Freeze the approved configuration and inspection points before material is committed.

  5. 05

    Test & closeout

Record checks, resolve observations and compile agreed handover documentation.

Verification

Test the functions that matter to the project

  • Visual and dimensional inspection against approved drawings
  • Control logic, alarms, trips and emergency-stop checks
  • Automatic start and transfer interface simulation where included
  • Synchronization and load-sharing functional tests where included
  • Load-bank test at agreed steps and duration
  • Fuel, ventilation and exhaust observations under operating load
  • Remote indication and communications checks where practical
  • Punch-list closure before dispatch

Frequently asked questions

Technical questions, answered clearly

Final selections and compliance are confirmed against the project specification and approved technical submittal.

What makes a generator package custom?

Any requirement outside the selected manufacturer’s standard package can drive custom engineering: acoustic performance, container layout, fuel autonomy, controls, hazardous-area equipment, transport, access, coating or site interfaces.

Can Patsons manufacture diesel tanks and drip trays?

Yes. The published company scope includes cylindrical and rectangular single-wall and double-wall tanks, base or day-tank arrangements and drip trays. Capacity, material, code and test requirements are confirmed per project.

Can remote generator monitoring be included?

Yes. Remote start, status, alarms, metering and communications can be integrated when the required protocol and connection responsibility are defined.

Can the customer approve drawings before fabrication?

Yes. Custom projects should proceed through technical submittal and drawing approval before manufacturing release.
